Baleba plays first Man Utd minutes in behind-closed-doors match
Manchester United have confirmed summer-signing Carlos Baleba played his first minutes for the club in a behind-closed-doors game against Lausanne-Sport on Friday.
Baleba joined from Brighton in a transfer worth up to 70m at the end of August but arrived with an injury which has so far kept him from making his competitive debut for United.
However, the 22-year-old midfielder appears to be making good strides in his recovery from his ankle problem as United ramp up preparations for the return of club football in just over a week.
Michael Carrick's side face a trip to Tottenham on Saturday October 10, live on Your Site, as they look to curb a poor run of form that has seen them go winless in their last three games.
Baleba was one of the United stars that featured in the match against Swiss side Lausanne-Sport, who are part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's multi-club ownership structure through INEOS.

Khela excited about potential arrival of Savage as Posh boss
Your Site News' Dev Trehan:
Brandon Khela has admitted the prospect of Robbie Savage becoming the next Peterborough United manager is an exciting one.
Forest Green Rovers chairman Dale Vince said in a statement earlier this week that Savage has been offered the Peterborough job, with the two clubs in negotiations over terms.
Ex-Birmingham City midfielder Khela, who won the Mens Young Player accolade at the 2026 Asian Football Awards, thinks he could learn a lot from Savage who was once a cult figure at St Andrew's himself as a player.
He (Savage) has played in the Premier League, the highest level, which I aspire to get to, Khela told Your Site News at the Asian Football Awards in London.
I could definitely learn a lot from him, if it is him.
Whatever manager comes in, it doesnt matter who it is, Im just looking forward to whoever is coming in. Im really excited for that.
Ive still got loads to improve on in my game, and if it is him, I hope to learn a lot from him.
Former England youth international Khela was also full of praise for Luke Williams following his dismissal as Peterborough manager last month.
I have a lot of good things to say about Luke, Khela said.
I learnt a lot from him, but thats football I guess and I hope our paths cross again in the future.
